DENSO - System 6 is a factory and field coating system based on polythylene and butyl caoutchouc for earth placed pipelines where earth and/or pipe movements are possible. Altough a sand-bedding of the pipeline is advisable. This system is normally fabricated in our pipe winding facility in Ebergassing. Anyway the possibility to applicate the system with hand or DENSOMAT is given. Like system 5 this one is a 2 - tape corrosion prevention system. The only differnce in comparison to system 5 is the wrapping of RT 22 with 67 % overlap (one additional layer evolves). This leads us to a minimum thickness of 2,80 mm.
The use of DENSOMAT hand-wrapping machines for the easier faster and more accurate application is highly advisable. A suggestive mechanical reinforcement of the system is the implementation of DENSO pipe protection fleece Rockshield DRM 1000+. DENSO - System 6 is certified according to stress category C50 at the ÖVGW (Austrian Aggregation for Gas and Water) and the ON (Austrian Standards Institute) and therefore suitable for applications with extrem stresses and strains.
